L'Oreal recently came out with a line of tinted balms for their Colour Riche collection.
It consists of 8 very wearable colors, all including a dose of SPF 15.
If you're looking for a new lip balm or you just love the feeling of gliding makeup onto your lips, I say go try these out!
The packaging is beautiful and is similar to that of the Revlon Lip Butters.
The plastic casings are slightly colored in accordance to the lip shade and protect a light gold, reflective bullet.
The balms themselves are moisturizing (the slicky kind, not sticky kind) and leave your lips hydrated for an average amount of time. I don't really know what constitutes as "average" time to you guys... but in this case we'll say that means about 3 hours.
The color payoff is minimal. These are no Revlon Lip Butters! Many people, such as myself, have been comparing these lippies to the RLB's, but I've come to realize, there should be no comparison at all. They're too different. To be fair, the RLB's are the exception for a tinted balm, while the Colour Riche Balms are the rule. I don't even really consider the Lip Butters, "Lip Butters". To me, they're just slightly sticker lipsticks that pack on the moisture. The CRB's are truly just balms with tinge of color; they will give your lips a nice, healthy hue, but will never build up to anything opaque. It's definitely perfect for those of you who don't really feel like wearing lipstick everyday or having full color on your lips.
Do note however, that these balms leave your lips looking a tad bit glossy!
Personally, if I were to purchase more of these, I would opt for a darker color like, "Plush Plum", only because I would want to use it for both the moisture and color. Otherwise, I'd be perfectly fine just using some good 'ol chapstick.

Four beautiful colors make up L'Oreals new line of blushes. They all look great and color-wise, can probably satisfy a variety of tastes, but the consistency of the blushes themselves lack magic.
These blushes remind me of those really yummy looking desserts you see at cafes that you order because you think it's going to be amazing, then after a few bites you realize it would've been better to stick with something more simple.
On the positive side, I love the color of the blush I picked up, the concept is fun, it's super light in texture and feels weightless on the skin. However it's just so odd to apply and barely lasts on my skin when used alone.
Rubbing this blush onto your cheeks right away unfortunately leads to some sort of excess buildup (that honestly bares resemblance to eraser boogers -- I'm sorry there's really no other way for me to describe what it looks like). I find patting the product on first, then blending it in works best but even that is a gamble.
Some people really enjoy this blush, so I think I need to play around with it a little more and figure out what brings out its full potential -- maybe use dewier foundation, don't use powder before, use it as a base, use with a certain brush etc..
The color I picked up is #842 Cherubic

The 24 hour eyeshadows from L'Oreal's "Infallible" line are a huge hit right now, and I can see why.
The new shadows come in 12 different shades, a majority of them neutrals, all claiming to be long lasting, waterproof, and crease-resisting.
I've only picked up one shade so far, but I'm already a believer.
The shadow is incredibly pigmented for a drugstore brand, applies beautifully without any need for primer and manages to last longer on the eyes than most other products.
When I first opened my shadow, I noticed that it was heavily packed. Since it's not a loose powder, there is little mess as well as little to no fallout. I find it to be a go-to product of mine now since it's so easy to use and travel-friendly.
I'm really obsessed with this one, guys.
The color I have is #890 Bronzed Taupe:

Here's another fairly new product released by a drugstore brand: the BOUNCY blush.
Maybelline came out with ten new shades in this formula -- a sponge-like dome that is soft to the touch and silky once spread on the skin. The colors are vibrant and fresh, but don't be fooled! What you see in the container is not what you get when you use it. These blushes run on the sheer side, with an exception to a few that are darker in pigmentation.
My tip: pat the color on to keep it from rubbing off!
Regardless, these blushes still give your cheeks a pretty sheen and a slight tint of color. I think they'd go great with dewier foundation -- but make sure to place some translucent powder on top since it doesn't last too long.
I found a blog post that has some great swatch photos of a few of the blushes if you're interested --
The color I picked up is #60 Coffee Cake (more bronze than pink):

These creamy gels are a great alternative for those not wanting to splurge on MAC paint pots.
With ten shades, Maybelline offers a color for everyone -- there are neutrals, metallics, and vibrant tropical colors. All are said to be super pigmented with 24 hour lasting power. I don't know about the 24 hours, but from all the reviews I've been watching/reading about, these babies are a must-have.
Think of them as a gel version of the L'Oreal Infallible shadows with the added bonus of also being a base. I love that these gels can be used alone as well as act as a base for other products. They're perfect for bringing out the intensity of less pigmented shadows you may have lying around.
So many people have been raving about these products, so what are you waiting for?
Go try them out for yourself & see what all the fuss is about! Well, if you can find them that is... they're nearly impossible for me to find at the moment.
